I left school particularly interested in building and business, so the decision was to either do a building apprenticeship or go to university and study business. I choose to do an apprenticeship because of the physical nature of building, being outside and getting to stand back and see what you’ve achieved at the end of each week. When I decided to start RUSA Construction I got to explore more of the business side of things and this is a journey I’ve really enjoyed.
At work, I’m all about getting the job done to a high-quality standard, working with subcontractors and clients, developing systems, solving problems and overcoming challenges. I get a lot of fulfilment out of seeing our clients celebrate the home or space of their dreams. I also have a huge amount of pride in the team we’ve created at RUSA, all our senior staff have been with us for over 10 years – something I credit to our success.
In my spare time you’ll find me in the hills hunting or tramping, generally enjoying the great outdoors. I’m also a family man and love spending time with my kids – two boys & a girl, a regular on the sports field side-line cheering them on.
